Ontario’s deadline is 1 January 2027

Under the AODA, organisations in Ontario with 50 or more employees must meet WCAG 2.0 Level AA on their public websites. Monitoring will not fix a site on its own — but it tells you, every week, whether you are getting closer or drifting further away, and it gives you something to show when you are asked.

Plans

A11ytek Monitor plans. Prices are in US dollars. Paying yearly costs ten months instead of twelve.
Plan Monthly Yearly Websites Pages watched Full scans a month Best for
Free $0 $0 1 25 4 Seeing where you stand, with no card and no sales call
Basic $29 $290 1 100 10 One site you want watched properly, managed in-house
Monitored $240 $2,400 3 300 10 Several sites, plus time from a person who reads the results with you
Managed $600 $6,000 5 750 10 A larger estate, with the reporting handled for you

Every plan runs the same tests. What the paid plans add is more pages, more sites, faster rescans, and — on Monitored and Managed — time from a person.

Canadian customers: GST or HST is added at checkout at your own province’s rate. Customers outside Canada are not charged Canadian tax.

The honest part

Automated testing reliably finds about a third of WCAG issues. That third is worth finding, and it is the part hardest to spot by eye — but it cannot tell you whether your alternative text means anything, whether the tab order makes sense, or whether somebody using a screen reader can actually finish your contact form.

A score of 100 is a good sign. It is not a certificate. Monitoring works best alongside periodic expert review — see monitoring & reporting for the full service, which adds quarterly manual re-testing of critical journeys, or accessibility audits for a one-off deep review.

Self-hosted licensing

If your organisation cannot send site data outside its own network — common in government and healthcare — A11ytek Monitor can run inside your infrastructure instead. That is quoted per organisation and includes setup support and updates. Get in touch for a number.

Common questions

Is the free plan really free?

Yes. One website, 25 pages, up to four scans a month, no card and no sales call. It is capped rather than time-limited, so it does not quietly expire on you. The list of 25 pages can be changed once a month — a list you can swap daily is an audit tool rather than a monitor.

What counts as a page?

One URL that gets tested on each scan. You choose which ones — usually the home page, contact, services and any online forms, because that is where complaints start.

Can we pay by purchase order or invoice?

Yes, and it is normal for councils and public bodies. Send us your PO number and we will issue an invoice on net-30 terms, payable by cheque, EFT or card. A11ytek is the vendor of record — there is no third party on the invoice. Email info@a11ytek.com instead of using the card form.

Where is our data kept?

On servers in Canada. We store the list of pages you asked us to watch and the test results for those pages. We do not store personal information about your website’s visitors, because we never see it — the tests run against your public pages the same way any visitor’s browser would.

What happens if we stop paying?

You drop back to the free plan. Every report you have already paid for stays readable — only new scans stop.

Monthly or yearly?

Yearly costs ten months instead of twelve. Monthly is there if you would rather try it without committing a year: three-month minimum, then cancel any time with 30 days’ notice.

How is this different from the big platforms?

Two ways. The results are read by a CPWA (IAAP), encompassing CPACC and WAS — not just generated and emailed to you. And A11ytek is a small Canadian business, so the price reflects the work rather than an enterprise licence.
